Tuan Linh Travel company can help you to get maximum 3 months visa, for longer stay you should contact Vietnam Embassy or go to Vietnam Immigration Office in big cities like Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh city.

We can arrange max. 3 months visa only. It takes 3 working days for us to get your visa approved. We can get your visa approved as quick as 2 hours, of course urgent fee would be applied.

For 3 months single entry visa, the total cost is $70 (including $25 for our service fee, $45 for stamping fee).
You have to pay separately for us (service fee) and for Immigration Office (stapming fee) when getting your visa stamped.

I am sending my visa request but I am uncertain whether they have issued the 3 and 6 month multi vietnam entry. I received an email a few weeks ago from a consultant office that it is still offered, but several of the travel agencies state that these visa are no longer being offered. Does anyone know the status of a Vietnam 3 or 6 month multi tourist visa?

You can get max. 3 months visa only. Longer stay can be arranged in special cases. Maybe something like work/study permit. 3 months visa is classified as business visa, not tourist visa.
