Request for a single entry visa was rejected by Embassy

After having made plans for several months and being excited for my visit to Vietnam, my request for a single entry tourist visa was rejected. I had visited the country before without any problems. The Embassy in Washington,DC would not give me any reason as to why they rejected,
I plan to claim the costs of cancellations etc from the Vietnamese Government, just wanted to warn those advance planning to be aware of incompetent bureaucrats issuing or not issuing visas and ruining vacation plans.
